A top official in the Washington, D.C., mayor’s office has been arrested for alleged domestic assault against his wife, police said.
Police say Dr. Christopher Rodriguez, assistant city manager and acting chief technology officer for D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, was arrested at his home in Northwest D.C.
According to a police report received by FOX 5 DCthe domestic violence incident happened at 11.30pm on Wednesday night.
Authorities say Rodriguez allegedly pushed his wife to the ground in connection with an argument the couple had.

When responding officers asked the alleged victim if she needed help from DC Safe – the District’s domestic violence crisis intervention agency – Rodriguez’s wife declined.

Rodriguez was placed under arrest for simple domestic violence, police said.

The Mayor’s Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment, but confirmed to FOX 5 that Rodriguez has been placed on administrative leave.
